Paul Scholes hails ‘ridiculous’ Jude Bellingham ahead of Real Madrid vs Bayern Munich… as Man United legend insists he can’t help but ‘admire him’ after his outstanding breakthrough season at LaLiga giants

Paul Scholes was full of praise for Real Madrid midfielder Jude Bellingham ahead of Wednesday’s Champions League major semi-final between Los Blancos and Bayern Munich.

Bellingham has had an incredible debut season at the Bernabeu after completing a major move from Borussia Dortmund last summer.

And Scholes admits he can do nothing but admire the young England midfielder.

Speaking to TNT Sports ahead of the match, Scholes said: ‘You can’t do anything but admire this boy.

‘What he is doing at the age of 20 is ridiculous. He even went from Birmingham to Dortmund and you think he will need some time to settle in, but he has been in their team for two years and is doing incredibly well.

‘He went to Madrid at the age of 20. You think it will take him some time, it takes the best players at 25, 26, 27 some time to settle down, but he is doing it now.

‘I keep waiting for a drop-off, but it just doesn’t happen. You can’t do anything but admire him. He has a big job tonight against a good team, but don’t be surprised if he had a big impact on the game.

‘I don’t think so (that this match is personal for him). I think he has bigger things ahead of him now. Of course it was disappointing, of course it was. But he is now at Real Madrid.

‘He is at a club where he will win national titles, that is part of it, but they are obsessed with winning the Champions League.

‘The history of this club and the history of this club sometimes takes you over the edge. Sometimes they aren’t always the best team. I don’t think they have been the best team in the league this year.
