Fans have claimed John Fury is ‘nowhere to be seen’ after Oleksandr Usyk defeated his son Tyson to become Saudi Arabia’s undisputed heavyweight champion of the world.

Usyk was announced as the winner after a split-decision ruling on Saturday evening after the twelve-round match in Riyadh.

The judges scored the bout 115-112 Usyk, 114-113 Fury and 114-113 Usyk, with the 37-year-old securing all four heavyweight belts.

Boxing fans are quick to highlight John Fury’s role in the Gypsy King’s camp after the first defeat of his professional career.

Some claimed that Fury’s father had been a hindrance to him during the fight, rather than a help as he tried to overcome Usyk.

One clip showed Steward giving Fury advice ahead of the final round, saying: ‘Don’t cross your bloody legs, be ready to punch, before adding: ‘Don’t be afraid to slide in , stop retreating, otherwise you will get captured’.
