Paramount+ orders new series Star Trek: Starfleet Academy showcasing a diverse group of cadets ages 16 and up
On Thursday, Paramount+ ordered a spin-off series called Star Trek: Starfleet Academy, which will introduce audiences to a new generation of cadets eager to explore the universe.
Starfleet showrunners will be Emmy-nominated producer Alex Kurtzman (Picard, Discovery) and writer Noga Landau (Tom Swift, Nancy Drew), who will oversee production beginning in 2024.

The premiere episode of Star Trek: Starfleet Academy will be written by Absentia creator Gaia Violo.
