Nicole Kidman has revealed that she’s not exactly a “cool mom.”

The Australian actress takes parenthood very seriously and says she never treats her daughters, Sunday, 18, and Faith, 15, as if she were their partner instead of their mother.

The 59-year-old explained that she is a “rock” for her children, but that’s a very different role from being a “friend.”

‘First and foremost you are a mother. You are a mother, but you are also a guide, a mentor, a safe haven, the place where you can always come home,” she said The Daily Telegraph.

“But at the end of the day, as I always tell my kids, no, I’m not here to be your best friend, I’m here to actually be the person who is your rock.”

Kidman also shared the moving reason why her teenage daughter Faith was by her side during the screening of Practical Magic 2 Sydney on Friday.
