Celebrity chef and MasterChef Australia fan favourite Khanh Ong reveals his genius hack to remove corn husks – and fans are impressed

Celebrity chef Khanh Ong has shared a life-changing cooking hack that left him ‘stunned’.

The 30-year-old star of MasterChef Australia took to Instagram on Friday to reveal a genius hack for cooking corn in the microwave.

He endorsed a technique he found online that described how to easily remove the corn cob from the inner cob.

Khanh explained that when he cooks corn in the microwave, the tassel always sticks to the cob, making it difficult to remove.

However, he then said he would try a new hack, where he would film himself simply cutting off the bottom of the husk before microwaving the corn.

When he removed the cooked corn from the microwave, he was able to easily slide the corn cob out of the husk without the outer tassels sticking to the food.

Sharing his shock that it actually worked, Khanh said he was “stunned” and said that even though it was an “obscure” problem, he was very happy with the solution.

He said, ‘That’s so satisfying! I love this hack, I give this hack a 9/10 just because it still had a piece attached to it, but it’s a pretty good hack!’

“I know it’s a small problem that most people won’t have to deal with, but it has changed my life.”

In a caption he added: ‘Baffling. I know it’s not a big deal, but I’m obsessed with it. I’m also making my Chinese chicken and sweet corn soup today. Hence the corn. To enjoy. Give me more hacks.”
