A Ukrainian man dressed as a woman and carrying his sister’s passport has been arrested while trying to flee the country.

The 44-year-old was stopped at the border with Romania by the Ukrainian state border guard after they became suspicious about his large physique.

They also suspected that he was trying to avoid military service.

The border guards wrote a video on social media: “The charming ‘Sergietta’ had planned a trip abroad.

‘A 44-year-old resident of Zolotonsha, disguised as a woman, tried to cross the border into Romania with his sister’s passport.’

The post has now been viewed more than 13,000 times since it was uploaded on Monday and has since been flooded with comments.

After the large-scale invasion of Russia, Ukraine introduced a ban on men between the ages of 18 and 60 from leaving the country if they had to fight.

Since Russia’s massive invasion of Ukraine, about 30 men have been killed trying to flee. According to the Ukrainian Border Guard, around 10 are arrested every day for trying to flee the country and avoid conscription.
