Luke Evans showed off his seriously trained physique on the front of Attitude magazine when he started publishing about body confidence.
While the image suggests Luke doesn’t have a self-esteem problem, the 47-year-old actor opened up about how his role in the Rocky Horror Show strengthened his own faith.
The Welsh star said being on stage for six months in fishnets, a jockstrap and heels was ‘great for his sense of confidence’.
And his newfound energy seeped into the photos from the magazine shoot, where he stripped down to just a pair of white panties and showed off his toned and tanned body.
Luke also wore a pair of thigh-length workout shorts, with socks and sneakers, leaving his muscular body on full display.
Outside of the shoot, Luke spoke about the “liberating” nights he spent as Frank-N-Furter, saying it was “like therapy” in which he found “body confidence.”

Luke said: “That feels so strange to say when I’m talking about a character wearing fishnet stockings, heels, a thong, a jockstrap, a corset, a harness, a wig and drag makeup.
“But to do this in front of over a thousand people every night – so that’s a few hundred thousand people now – has been so confident and amazing to my sense of self-confidence.”
Luke went on to say that as an actor who typically plays “very masculine action roles,” it meant a lot to him as a gay man to play the role.
He said: “As an actor who is best known for playing these very masculine action roles, and as a gay man to come and play this role, it meant a lot to me personally.
“I think it was also a really powerful message that we sent to the audience: this is a person who is comfortable with who he is and who just loved spreading his wings and doing something that was really outside of his comfort zone, which I lived in and really enjoyed.”
Luke’s time on the Broadway show is now coming to an end, but he has been praised for his eccentric performance and it earned him his first Tony Award nomination.
He then returns to television in the ITV drama The Party – which he describes as ‘lies, sexuality, death, deceit, corruption and finding your authentic self’.
Based on the 2017 novel by Elizabeth Day, The Party follows the story of Martin Gilmour, a respected political journalist who is invited to the lavish 40th birthday party of his best friend, conservative politician and aristocrat Ben Fitzmaurice (Tom Cullen).

Luke plays a weary anti-hero, whom the reader meets when he is covered in blood and being questioned by the police.
Through a series of flashbacks, the audience slowly learns how the titular party unraveled a life of lies, gossip, and repressed emotions into one disastrous event.
Speaking about the show, which airs on ITV this autumn, Luke said: ‘It’s all about politics, class, the British hierarchy, old money, new money, social climbing, lies, sexuality, death, deception, corruption and finding your authentic self. I mean, seriously, how often do you find all that in one story?’
When he starred opposite Tom in the series, he said: “Tom is straight and I’m gay, but there was no discomfort that [our characters] could fall in love because that story is truly something that should break anyone’s heart.
“We both knew we wanted this to feel beautiful, passionate, tragic and real. We were also just really good friends, which I think helped a lot.”
