Speaking to Daily Mail Australia in their brand new North Sydney studio, Sandilands, 52, and Henderson, 49, both have mixed opinions on how Melburnians will adapt to their first breakfast show on April 29.

‘I don’t think it will really be a problem. I hope they embrace us soon. But Jackie thinks maybe it’s more of a slow burn, but she’s always on the more cautious side of life,” Sandilands said.

They also shut down recent reports about the censorship the show staged prior to its interstate move, revealing that their secret weapon to winning over listeners is to keep doing what they’re doing.

‘The law is the law. “Whether it’s here or in Melbourne, it’s the same broadcasting laws,” Sandilands said.

‘Any radio program can do what we do. They just don’t have the balls to do it… We prefer to be more realistic so people can interact and be attracted to someone on the show who has the same opinions as them.”

Henderson, who has been single since divorcing her ex-husband Lee Henderson in 2018, also discussed the dating pool in Melbourne.

The blonde recalled her recent trip to the southern city and was shocked by the number of attractive men staying fit and active outside.

“When I was in Melbourne for the Grand Prix, I walked through the Botanic Gardens every day,” she explained.

‘I wasn’t on the tugboat. I was just exercising. But I had to call my friend and said, “You wouldn’t believe how many hot guys there are in the Botanical Gardens.” They go there all the time!’

“They’re just walking their dogs,” she added. “They’re everywhere, so many great guys in Melbourne.”

The co-host considered buying a small apartment instead of a house if the show aired more often from the Melbourne studio.

‘Unless a man comes into my life who lives in Melbourne, then maybe [I’ll buy a house],’ she said.

‘I’ll just take it as it comes. So it would be nice to find that person, but I don’t mind if it happens, so to speak. No rush. Very go with the flow. I think if it has to be that way, it will work out.”

In addition to the 10-year radio deal, there is reportedly a unique clause in the contract that gives Sandilands the ability to broadcast the show ‘anywhere in the world’.

The shock jock has often worked on the KIIS FM show from Los Angeles and other places, so the new contract will give him the flexibility to continue broadcasting wherever he wants.

‘We are [heading to] Las Vegas and Los Angeles in September,” Henderson revealed to Daily Mail Australia.

Sandilands said the upcoming overseas broadcasts will be part of the iHeartRadio Music Festival taking place later this year.

As for other prime locations, the couple revealed other potential places.

“I really wanted to bring the show to Amsterdam because I thought it would be so much fun,” Henderson added.

‘Do not lie. You wanted to go to Amsterdam because you smoked a joint once and you thought, oh, that’s for me,” Sandilands interrupted.

Henderson continued, “I liked those trips. You know, where they take us outside our comfort zone. They are nice.

“The one we did from the south of France is one of the listeners’ favorite weeks of our show. We get that feedback all the time: how much they like it. So yes, we will definitely do more.’

Sandilands also noted that the program will be broadcast from ‘major events’ in Melbourne, such as the Australian Open, now that they have a brand new bus that converts into a portable broadcast studio.

‘Major national events, wherever they are. “If there’s a national event in the Gold Coast, whatever competitions they’re going to do in Brisbane, we can send this bus anywhere for a broadcast facility,” he said.

“So as we expand just outside the Sydney area, we’ll go into other markets. A lot of the big events are in Melbourne, so we’ll definitely be doing live shows there.”

The Kyle & Jackie O Show moved from their Macquarie Park studios to a brand new, state of the art studio in North Sydney last month.

One window, which overlooks Sydney Harbor and features a huge fiber-like retractable screen that can display any image – be it a forest or a strip club – cost an eye-watering $250,000.

Sandilands faced numerous technical issues on the first day and said everyone is finally getting used to the prime location.

“We couldn’t just come in and enjoy it. From day one. It was a lot like buying a brand new car. You don’t know how something works. Or the windshield wipers are on the wrong side. All that stuff was going on. But now we just feel very comfortable. It’s great to be here.’

Sandilands and Henderson also revealed to Daily Mail Australia their non-negotiable requirements for the move, demanding they both have their own parking space and balcony.

“I said we need a huge studio. So if we want to use a six-piece band, we have the space for that,” Sandilands also noted.

“As long as we had a balcony and a car spot, those were two predominant things,” Henderson added.

“We didn’t want a locker or a desk, even though we had all that,” Sandilands continued. ‘Even the CEO didn’t get a car seat!’

In November, the Sydney-based radio duo signed a record-breaking 10-year deal worth $200 million, keeping them on air until 2034.

A spokesperson for ARN confirmed to Daily Mail Australia that the deal for the Sydney duo meant their work friends Jase Hawkins and Lauren Phillips were unemployed. Their Melbourne breakfast show ended in December.

In a statement celebrating the historic contract extension, Sandilands said: “Fans of the show will be pleased to hear that this 10-year deal is the longest radio deal in Australian history.

“Love us or loathe us, Jackie and I will continue with our politically incorrect nonsense for a long time.”

He added: “We would like to thank the listeners. Staff. All clients. Even senior management, I’ll give a nod to that. They’ve actually done something brilliant.’
