Katie Price reveals she is visiting a medical specialist after leaving her family concerned about unexplained weight loss

Katie Price has revealed she is seeing a medical specialist after leaving her family concerned about her unexplained weight loss.

The former glamor model, 48, who has previously denied taking weight-loss drugs, has sparked concerns this year over her worryingly thin body.

In January she revealed she sought medical advice after being left ‘shocked’ by photos of her ‘thin’ appearance.

And in a health update last week, Katie explained that she now needs to have blood tests and see a gastroenterologist (a doctor who specializes in the digestive system).

In conversation with her sister Sophie on their podcast The Katie Price Showshe said, “The doctors called me. I have to go back and have two more blood tests because I need to see one gastroenterologist or something to get to the bottom of why I’m losing weight.

‘The gastroenterologist, whatever their name is, asked me to do two more blood tests. I don’t know what they’re being tested for, and then we’ll move on.”

Earlier this month, Katie’s son Junior expressed concern about her eating in an Instagram video after making her a large pasta dish to “make sure she eats.”

After a wave of concerns from fans who feared for her health, Junior said: “Guys, normalize going to your mom’s house and cooking food for them.”

Katie said: ‘I love it, this pasta dish you’re making, I absolutely love it. He came here and cooked me dinner and he cooked another one for tomorrow. Bless him.’

‘Otherwise she won’t eat!’ Junior smoked.

“She doesn’t want to cook for herself, so I just had to come over and cook her some food. Normalize that people, for your mother.’

A few months ago, Katie admitted she had become too thin and was trying to gain weight, while also seeking medical advice.

Presenter Susanna Reid will appear on Good Morning Britain in March said, “Katie, can I ask that because I’m concerned about your weight. You’re very, very, very thin.’

Katie replied, “Yes, and I’m glad you asked!”

‘Now people say: is that because you are overdoing the weight-loss medications or are you at a healthy weight? Have you determined that?’ Susanna asked.

She explained: ‘I have to go back and have two more blood tests because I have to go to a gastroenterologist or something like that to find out why I’m losing weight’ (pictured in January)

In her response, Katie gave fans a health update, saying: ‘People who follow me online will know that I have lost weight. I acknowledge that I have lost weight. I look too skinny, I look skinny.

“So I went to the doctors, to see why I’m losing, I did all the blood tests, I even did the poop test, to find out.”

Susanna asked, “The doctor says you’re okay?”

Katie explained: “I said to them, everyone said I’m on Ozempic, they said, well, we can see from your blood that I’m not.

‘I am deficient in iron, they are now checking the other part. And I’m also currently pre-menopausal.’

She added, “I’m healthy, so no one is worried about me.”

When she gave an update in February, she said she had gained seven pounds thanks to her husband Lee – as she described him as a feeder.

Katie shared a photo of her pedicured feet on the scales and wrote: ‘7 stone 12 lbs I have gained. Anyone who talks about my weight, I’m healthy.’
