Kate Moss, 50, reveals daughter Lila, 21, taught her how to do make-up as she was ‘too busy smoking’ while getting glammed-up professionally: ‘I never paid attention’
Kate Moss revealed all her beauty tricks when she previewed her makeup bag on her COSMOSS Instagram account on Thursday.
The supermodel, 50, admitted that daughter Lila, 21, taught her how to do makeup because she never paid attention to it while she did it professionally when she was younger.
Kate said she was always “too busy smoking” while sitting in a makeup chair before photo shoots and runways to ever learn on her own.
Kate was always called ‘a moving target’ and joked that she could never sit still in the chair because she was always chatting.
Speaking to Alessandra Steinherr in the video, she asked, “Would you say you’re good at doing your own makeup?”

Kate, who shares Lila with ex Jefferson Hack, said: ‘No, I haven’t learned anything. I never paid attention to it. I was too busy chatting, I never looked at what they were doing.’
“This is what Lila taught me: contouring. She just said ‘mama, dot, dot, dot, dot’ [all around her face]. I mean, after 30 years, I didn’t know anything about that.
Alessandra added: ‘Because you have the cheekbones that everyone wants!’
Kate said, ‘No, but I don’t use it on cheekbones. I use it for shine.”
“Were you good in the makeup chair?” Or did you want to run out of the makeup chair?’ Alessandra asked.
Kate said, “No, I just forgot I was even in the makeup chair. I was like a moving target, that’s what they called me. That’s how I was [moving around frantically] with a cigarette.’
Lila has long been compared to her famous mother with their similar striking looks and tall, slim frames.
And she’s certainly discovering that looking like one of the world’s biggest supermodels pays off, as she’s almost tripled her earnings in one year.

The accounts of Lila’s own company Grace Grove Ltd, published on Thursday, show her salary rose from £129,458 in 2022 to £359,433 in 2023.
It is evidence of a very successful year for Lila after she campaigned for the likes of Pepe Jeans, an international denim brand based on Portobello Road in Notting Hill.
She also starred in a campaign for the French brand Maje last year and is currently walking in several exclusive shows for Paris Fashion Week, or standing next to Kate on the front row.
After being signed to her mother’s Kate Moss Agency at the age of 15, Lila became the face of Marc Jacobs Beauty in 2018.
She made her catwalk debut for Italian fashion house Miu Miu in 2020, became an ambassador for YSL and made headlines when she walked the pink carpet during Victoria’s Secret World Tour last year.
