Jessie James Decker credits genetics and ‘elite’ training for giving her children defined abs

Jessie James Decker credited family genetics and “elite” physical training for her kids’ ripped abs on Monday after she shared photos of them on social media.

The 34-year-old singer posted photos to Instagram over the weekend showing her eight-year-old daughter Vivianne, seven-year-old son Eric Jr and four-year-old boy Forrest displaying well-defined abs.

“I wasn’t going to address this because it’s insane, but the pictures are there and every news outlet has posted about it. When I posted the photos from our vacation and included the kids bending crazy on the beach during our Thanksgiving trip, I had NO idea it would get the response,” Jessie posted on Instagram Monday.

“But being accused of photoshopping my kids’ abs (I can’t help but laugh) or… the opposite of ‘overtraining’ our kids makes me realize how bizarre our world has become in regards to the body and what’s normal and what not . We preach about body positivity and acceptance, but my kids having a huge amount of genetic and built-up muscle through athletics is “weird”?,” she added to her approximately 4.2 million followers.

“I want to raise my kids to take pride in their bodies and work hard, from Vivi’s elite competitive gymnastics to Eric Jr who wants to be just like dad as an NFL receiver to little Forrest who dances his heart out for hours on end. Let’s not choose what we normalize regarding bodies and accept all people and children.

“If we want to do it ‘better’, do it better. I am proud of my children and encourage them to make their dreams come true. So we’ll see you all at the 2032 Olympics, with Bubby’s jersey in the stands and dancing to the Forrests rock concert,’ Jessie concluded along with a peace sign emoji.

Jessie initially shared a photo on Saturday of her three children wearing bathing suits that showed off their taut stomachs.

This led to many supportive – and some much less supportive – comments. Decker responded to a few of the more critical ones.

One follower wrote, “That doesn’t look good… Sorry, sorry [woman shrugging emoji.]’

The I Still Love You singer responded with, “It’s a sad world we live in today when we have healthy fit kids who are super active, play sports [and] building muscle naturally is ‘weird’.

Another person called the kids’ abs “weird” to which Eric Decker’s wife replied, “From one mother to the next.” Please don’t call my children’s appearance strange just because they don’t look the way you think they should?’

She added, “It’s unkind [red heart emoji.]’

Jessie and her husband got married in 2013. Eric Decker played in the NFL from 2010 to 2018.

Their daughter Vivianne trains in gymnastics and their son Eric Jr. plays football, just like his father, according to him Us weekly.

The Flip My Hair singer is coming off the release of her latest EP The Woman I’ve Become, which came out just over a year ago, though she’s released several singles in 2022.

Her most recent song, the Billy Currington collaboration I Still Love You, came out in October.

However, she seems to be taking her time with a full release as her last LP – a Christmas album – came out in 2018.
