Jamie Carragher has slammed Manchester United after their humiliating 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, labeling them one of the worst-coached teams in the Premier League.

It was another miserable performance for Erik ten Hag’s team, who had no answer for the Eagles at Selhurst Park.

Michael Olise scored two brilliant goals, while Jean-Philippe Mateta and Tyrick Mitchell also got on the scoresheet as Palace romped through United with ease.

Speaking to Sky Sports after the match, Carragher said: ‘This is one of the worst coached teams in the Premier League, that’s a fact.’

United were missing both Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford that evening, with their teammates failing to appear in their absence.

Erik ten Hag’s men were embarrassed by the Eagles at Selhurst Park on Monday evening

‘Your performance level will drop if you lose your best players. Ten Hag needs performance. He needs faith.

‘You have to make us believe there is something here. I struggled to see how United would win tonight.

‘No United team should be beaten 4-0 by Palace. Man United’s U23 team, I would still expect them not to lose 4-0. “I’ve never been a coach or a manager, but I’ve been a player and some of the things I see are just wrong.”

Ten Hag was clearly unimpressed by his side’s defense for Olise’s first goal, with the striker receiving the ball from a throw-in in the center of the park and drifting past challenges from Christian Eriksen and Casemiro on his way to scoring.

And Carragher was scathing in his assessment of the United States’ efforts.

He added: ‘It’s impossible for the ball to go there, Eriksen has to come in here.

‘Mainoo leads the way, Wan-Bissaka is just not doing anything there. Leadership again, no one takes responsibility. Eriksen is thrown to the ground, Casemiro was a joke tonight.”
