How to deal with eco-morons, Portuguese style: Climate protesters are dragged off the road and put in their place by no-nonsense motorists

Furious motorists in Portugal have demonstrated an effective technique for clearing out eco-fanatics who tried to block traffic amid a pointless protest.

The clip shows drivers getting out of their cars and immediately starting to drag the orange-vested protesters off the road while pulling down their banners.

Protesters from the Portuguese climate activist group Climáximo are known for their frequent protests in and around Lisbon, some causing hours-long disruptions and huge traffic jams.

But in this footage, the protesters are unceremoniously dumped on the side of the road before motorists jump back into their vehicles and scream past.

The clip has gone viral on social media and has been viewed millions of times. Users chimed in to praise drivers for their no-nonsense approach.

“This brings joy to my heart… the world is healing,” one user commented.

“I thought leaving your car idle was bad for the environment… isn’t that counterproductive to their agenda?” another user asked sarcastically, pointing out that the tactic of causing traffic jams only worsens the impact of vehicle emissions.

It comes as Just Stop Oil protesters angered theatergoers in London last night when they interrupted a performance of Les Miserables during the cast’s rendition of the iconic song ‘Do You Hear The People Sing’.

In an incident that raised serious questions about security, the activists calmly climbed onto the stage from the most expensive seats in the house, unfurled their banners and shouted “join the rebellion.”

Theatergoers drowned out the JSO’s singing with cheers and shouts of “you disgust me.”

Another angry gambler shouted: ‘Go away you stupid people. How dare you,’ while a third shouted: ‘F*** you’ as one of the eco-destroyers delivered a monologue about ‘society collapsing’.

In Britain, groups such as Just Stop Oil have organized a series of protests that have caused significant transport disruptions.

They often remain in place for hours before finally being removed by police.

But across Europe it seems that dissatisfied citizens are increasingly taking matters into their own hands.

Just last month, people lost patience when eco-clowns stopped traffic on a busy road in Berlin.

Climate activists from the German group Letzte Generation – translated as Last Generation – staged a slow march blockade, bringing traffic to a standstill in the German capital.

The cyclist reportedly lost his cool after the activists did not let him pass through their slow march.

The video shows the cyclist and another man in a red shirt pushing the long-haired elderly protester until he falls to the ground.

The video was posted by Letzte Generation on X, formerly Twitter, with the caption: ’25 slow-walk blockades in Berlin. The climate crisis is already escalating. The first tipping points have been reached.

‘2045 is too late. 2030 free from fossil fuels is necessary. That’s why we’re protesting.’

This is not the first time interactions between climate activists and irritated road users have turned violent in Germany.

A shocking video captured earlier this month showed an angry motorist resorting to violence to break up a street blockade protest by the activist group.

The man was seen jumping onto the B36 highway near the Victoria Tower in Mannheim. He began punching and kicking a series of activists from the Letzte Generation movement.

Police later arrested the 29-year-old suspect, the German newspaper said Image.

The attacker, wearing a white vest and gray sweatpants, was one of several irate motorists who confronted the eco-fanatics who had donned orange uniforms and sat on the tarmac, driving three lanes backwards.

When the protesters remained seated and refused to move, he snapped, lashing out with fists and feet in anger and dragging them away.

Mannheim police learned of the attack the next day and arrested the suspect in Ludwigsburg, where he was taken for questioning.

But Aimée van Baalen, the group’s spokeswoman, remains steadfast in their commitment to continue similar protests despite the controversy.

She claims that Letzte Generation will not be deterred by opposition and is determined in its mission to draw attention to climate change.

In July, three protesters were dragged out of the way by an irate truck driver who worked for low-carbon energy company Air Liquide. They then ran in front of the truck again before one of them was knocked into the air.

Air Liquide is the official hydrogen supporter of the Paris Olympic Games and is working to innovate ‘the development of low-carbon hydrogen and biomethane for the energy transition’.

The driver of the truck initially jumps out to push and drag the activists aside.

Once they’re back in place, he begins to move forward slowly – and then shunts the activist closest to the sidewalk.

The force is enough to send the young man flying back and bystanders come to his aid.

The truck driver throws his hands up in frustration and stops the truck before jumping out of the cab again to pull the protesters aside.

Air Liquide provided the following statement to MailOnline: ‘On July 12, Air Liquide was made aware of an altercation in Stralsund, Germany, between an external contract driver from Air Liquide Medical Gases and local protesters.

“Images show unacceptable behavior by the driver that is in no way consistent with Air Liquide’s values.

“The third party contractor has been advised that Air Liquide will no longer accept the services of this individual.”
