A California driver was caught Wednesday driving in the carpool lane with a creepy, realistic doll in his front seat.

The California Highway Patrol office in Santa Fe Springs shared a hilarious photo of the plastic passenger, wearing a black hoodie with sunglasses.

“Officer Kaplan conducted an enforcement stop on this vehicle for crossing solid double lines, but realized the driver was the only occupant in the vehicle with his plastic friend,” the CHP wrote.

“The goatee was sharp… just a little too sharp,” officers wrote of the bearded doll strapped to the passenger seat.

The Instagram post garnered overwhelming responses from social media users, with many pointing out the apparent resemblance to rapper Snoop Dogg and singer Stevie Wonder.

‘Sniff, is that you!!!!!’ one user wrote in the comments section, while another said, “Leave the Stevie wonder alone Lol.”

According to the CHP, the human driver in the vehicle was subsequently cited for multiple carpool violations.

Officers said they were asked, “If I have a mannequin in the passenger seat, does that count as a second occupant in the vehicle?” I’m trying to use the carpool lane when no one else is in the car!’

“The answer is simple… NO,” the CHP wrote in the Instagram post.

‘As this motorist found out; we have to hand it to them, the look is next level modeling, but at the end of the day… plastic is plastic.”

To conclude the post, the office did not forget to leave a few tips for drivers to avoid traffic and violations.

“Remember to plan ahead, know your itinerary, and know the general challenges of your ride to avoid feeling rushed or tempted to push your luck,” they wrote.

“I mean, imagine all the times he was able to get away with it, all the time he saved by not sitting in traffic. It’s worth the ticket 100x,” said one user.

Another joked: ‘I really don’t see a problem here as most people are fake and still carry a lot of plastic.’

“He looks pretty real. Better than just a skeleton in a hat. I would have let him go for his creative idea,” said another user.
