Former Hi-5 star admits children’s show was filled with dirty sexual jokes that kids couldn’t understand
Former Hi-5 star Nathan Foley has admitted the iconic children’s show was full of dirty jokes that their young audience couldn’t understand.
The former children’s entertainer, 43, who was part of the original Hi-5 line-up from 1999 to 2008, made the shocking admission Outspoken The Podcast.
He confessed that some of the show’s writers would include racy innuendos in the scripts, including jokes about ‘doggy style’ – without the young viewers at home knowing.
“If you look back at Hi-5 and see some of the script, there’s often dialogue in there and we say, ‘Wait a minute, this isn’t for a child,’” he said. hosts Amy, Sophie and Kate Taeuber.
“There was something that came up and said like ‘doggy style’ in the (script).”

He continued, “I said, ‘OK, the kids have no idea, all they’re thinking about is their pet in the backyard, but I know what you’re doing.'”
It comes almost a year after Nathan released a solo album called Hurricane, which celebrates ‘sexual empowerment’ and ‘our authentic selves’.
He debuted the album in front of a live audience last September, 9Honey reported at the time.
Posting about the big news on his Instagram last October, the muscular star talked about his new musical direction.
“It was so incredible to finally release my music to a live audience,” he said in his stories.
“I was completely worried until I saw the audience dancing to the songs I had put so much heart into.”
He admitted to making sexual jokes about ‘doggy style’, which often appeared in the script without the knowledge of the young viewers at home
The album contains 13 songs, including the single Strut.
Nathan was part of the original Hi-5 line-up from 1999 to 2008 and subsequently performed in stage productions including Mamma Mia! and Acoustic Rhythms from 2011.
In 2010 he performed in the musical Mama Mia! and toured Australia, while in 2011 he toured with Acoustic Rhythms, a new show.
Nathan also competed on the 2019 season of Channel Nine’s The Voice, but dropped out in the first round.
