Former child star is best known for her role as the perfect blonde eldest sister in a famous TV family…who is she?

She is best known for playing one of the most beloved sisters in a famous TV family in the late 1960s and early 1970s.

When she was just 13 years old, she charmed viewers as the sweet, beautiful, blonde, “girl next door” and responsible eldest sister of her five siblings during the original five seasons of the ABC sitcom.

Her character’s impeccable, popular image inspired her jealous, clumsy sister’s now-famous catchphrase whenever she felt overshadowed on the show.

But despite her perfect on-screen persona, in real life the TV icon would eventually suffer a common fate among other child stars: she became addicted and that affected her career after the show ended.

Today, the actress looks fit and healthy, and remains a likable, resilient television icon who has overcome personal struggles.

Can you guess who it is?

The beloved former child star, who is best known for her role as the perfect, blonde, eldest sister of her four siblings on a hit TV sitcom, was spotted out and about in LA last week.

In 2008, she spoke candidly about her struggles in a revealing tell-all entitled Here’s The Story: Surviving Marcia Brady and Finding My True Voice.

The bestseller describes, among other things, her addiction, trading sex for drugs, crippling depression and a battle with bulimia.

She revealed that her decision to go straight was prompted by husband Michael Cummings – with whom she will celebrate 40 years of marriage in March 2025 – after he gave her an ultimatum that he would leave if she ever used drugs again.

Luckily, that scared Maureen right away and she has been clean and sober ever since.

The couple, who share a 35-year-old daughter, Natalie, now live a quiet life outside Los Angeles.

This past March marked the 50th anniversary of The Brady Bunch, which featured a large blended family of six children, three boys and three girls.
