Celebs Go Dating contestant Gemma Louisianna has revealed she had a “gut feeling” that something wasn’t right between her and Gary Lucy, just days before he dumped her for Laura Anderson.

The comedian, 30, admitted she wasn’t sure who the former Hollyoaks star, 41, was after producers set her up on a blind date and asked her friends.

But despite this, the pair hit it off and went on five dates before the actor called it quits in September after falling for fellow celebrity and former Love Islander Laura, 33.

Upset: Celebs Go Dating contestant Gemma Louisianna has revealed she had a “gut feeling” that something wasn’t right between her and Gary Lucy, just days before he dumped her for Laura Anderson

Gemma, who filmed for the Chanel 4 show over the summer, admitted that she thinks they might have “got a chance” if Laura hadn’t been on the scene.

She said: ‘I think we could have done it more if Laura hadn’t been around, we got along so well.’

“We and I had an instant connection that felt quite natural. But after the fourth date, my gut told me that something was up.

And I wasn’t surprised that he dumped me on the fifth date. No hard feelings though, I now have some great material for my comedy sets.

Eek! Gemma, who filmed for the Chanel 4 show over the summer, admitted that she thinks they might have “got a chance” if Laura hadn’t been on the scene.

“He contacted me after the show and was very decent about it.”

Gemma’s time on the show began after the producers approached her online in July 2022.

After a rigorous process involving a wellness check on Gemma, she was brought onto the show, and despite the intense production process, she said she “really enjoyed” the dates.

She said: ‘I got a message on Instagram from the show and managed to get it to work between a few shows in Edinburgh.

‘The first day, it was a blind date, so I didn’t know who I would meet. I’m not going to lie, it was a little intimidating at first. He was nervous but excited to get caught.

Strange! The comedian, 30, admitted she wasn’t sure who the former Hollyoaks star, 41, was after producers set her up on a blind date and she asked her friends.

“For the most part, the dates felt very real. The hardest part was not being able to text or contact the other person outside of dates. However, it made it a bit more exciting.

Gary, who separated from the mother of his four children in November 2018, found fame as a young man in Hollyoaks before starring in the ITV drama Footballers Wives.

In total, the couple went on five dates, including three one-on-one dates, one group date, and one final date.

She said she had a feeling that things were “not quite right” between her and Gary the fourth time they met, but she “didn’t want to believe it.”

Gemma said: ‘I never spoke to Laura so I wasn’t sure, but I had a feeling. I didn’t get to talk to Laura much, but she seemed nice enough.

“The end date was when I really knew something was wrong, but he didn’t reveal anything.”

In the end, Gary decided he wasn’t sorry anymore and ended up coming face to face with Gemma during a date in a central London bar.

She said that while it was never pleasant to hear, she had “prepared” for the possibility.

“All the girls know that instinct and mine were right,” she said. I had prepared myself for it. He just wanted to know what was happening and why.

Tragic: But despite this, the couple hit it off and went on five dates before the actor called it quits in September after falling for another celeb and former Love Islander, Laura, 33.

‘I thought it was going pretty well, but sometimes you have to trust your gut. I was still hopeful after our first kiss on the second date, and it was good!

The aspiring singer also revealed information about the filming process and even refused to ask Gary certain questions despite the producers’ demands.

Gemma said: “I mean, just like on all television, we’re told to talk about certain things, like they asked me to ask Gary to cry on command, but I refused.”

“We had to redo specific conversations, but only for clarity and audio issues.

“Filming is pretty quick on the date, but it’s weird because we couldn’t talk if the camera wasn’t rolling. In the end, it was the perfect ending for a comedian like me.

Impressive: After a rigorous process involving a wellness check on Gemma, she was brought onto the show, and despite the intense production process, she said she “genuinely enjoyed” the dates

“Actually, it was the same day the queen died, I was able to make a joke about it in the taxi on the way home, it gave me and the driver something to talk about.”

Despite how it ended, I have no hard feelings towards Gary. He even respected my comedy and said that we had a good genuine connection.

If it weren’t for Laura, who knows what could have happened between us. But technically, we’re not allowed to have any contact right now, so that’s it.

‘I’m grateful for the experience and the journey of it all. It’s been harder than I thought it would be, especially watching the episodes and knowing that some of the conversations cut differently or overlapped,” he admitted.

“But I’m glad I did and I’m happy to share my journey, both the good and the bad, with everyone.”
