Florence delighted fans when she made a comeback at the film festival this week after the drama surrounding the 2022 premiere of Don’t Worry Darling.
Vicious rumors of a rift between Olivia Wilde and Florence overshadowed the release of their film.
At the time, their feud was said to have started as a result of the filmmaker’s relationship with Harry Styles – with Florence reportedly upset that her director hooked up with the singer while she was still engaged to Jason Sudeikis.
Olivia specifically denied the claim that she and Florence engaged in a “shouting match” on the set of the film, a movie about women who were unknowingly made to become 1950s housewives at the insistence of their boyfriends.
“I’ve never had a shouting match on my set. I was never unavailable on set. I wanted to say, “None of this is true,” she told the publication.
The relationship – which Olivia called “loving, wonderful and joyful” – lasted almost two years.
Yet the rumors not only infected the film’s rollout, but also followed Olivia and Harry throughout their relationship.
Olivia, who directed the film, claimed she was discouraged from speaking out about the speculation by the studio and other parties – a request she agreed to but now regrets.

At the time, Olivia insisted that Florence had to skip the Don’t Worry Darling press conference in Venice due to a scheduling conflict.
Instead, Florence was seen enjoying a cocktail and avoiding the drama in a clip that went viral.
Olivia repeated the line of scheduling conflicts to reporters, but while the press conference was taking place, Florence’s stylist Rebecca Corbin Murray shared a video of her client walking around Venice.
The actress, wearing a stunning purple Valentino ensemble, paraded around the terrace of her hotel with a large Aperol Spritz in hand, cheering for the camera.
“Not Olivia Wilde saying Florence Pugh couldn’t attend the Don’t Worry Darling press conference due to scheduling conflicts and because she was literally in Venice at the same time with this energy,” one tweeter joked while sharing the clip.
