Father of boy, 3, found stabbed to death and charged with murder

A 45-year-old father is charged with murder in the death of his three-year-old son in southwest Sydney.
Emergency services were called to Riverwood’s address at 4 p.m. Wednesday by a woman who was related to the father and also reportedly lived in the apartment.
Police and paramedics found the toddler’s body in the unit next to his father, who had serious knife injuries, which police say he self-inflicted.
Doctors at St George Hospital performed emergency surgery on the man, who is in stable condition under police guard.
The man will reportedly be heard at the bedside within the next 24 hours.
