Ed Sheeran surprises fans when he makes a surprise visit to a New Zealand pub ahead of his tour

Ed Sheeran surprised fans when he visited a local New Zealand pub on Sunday.

The 31-year-old English singer-songwriter made a surprise appearance at Brac and Bow restaurant in the town of Featherston.

The venue shared a photo on Facebook of manager Debbie Sinclair meeting the singer during her visit over the weekend.

Debbie told him Stuffshe initially didn’t recognize Ed when he ordered two glasses of Castle Lager and fries.

After he finished his meal, she asked him for a photo, and he gladly agreed.

The Brac and Bow restaurant shared a photo of manager Debbie Sinclair meeting the singer during her visit over the weekend.

“Of all the places to call, (Sheeran’s choice) to call our small town is an amazing feeling,” he said.

“I am a lucky person that I had the opportunity to be so close.”

The four-time Grammy Award winner, known for his hits Thinking Out Loud and Bad Habits, will perform at Wellington’s Sky Stadium on February 2 and Auckland’s Eden Park on February 10.

It will then head to Suncorp Stadium in Brisbane on February 17; Accor Stadium in Sydney on February 24 and MCG in Melbourne on March 2.

Ed will also perform at the Adelaide Oval on March 7; and Optus Stadium in Perth on March 12.
