Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson gets emotional during ‘life-changing’ visit to soldiers at military hospital as he thanks them for their service : ‘I will always fight for you’

Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had a “life-changing day” Wednesday when he visited veterans at Walter Reed Military Hospital.

The 51-year-old wrestler/actor – who recently flew one of his superfans to WrestleMania – attended his Instagram to share an emotional video thanking soldiers for their service at the nation’s largest military medical center, located in Bethesda, Maryland.

The clip showed the star warmly greeting injured soldiers and sick children, hugging some of them and taking selfies together.

In one particularly moving moment, a young boy lightened the mood by joking that his medical treatment had left him with the same hairstyle as the famous movie star: a close shave.

“A life-changing day spending time with our soldiers at WALTER REED MILITARY HOSPITAL,” Dwayne captioned the post. “Looking our soldiers (and children) – men and women – in the eyes and spending time with them as they fight through their injuries and challenges – has a way of reminding us what life is all about.”

Walter Reed, formerly called the National Naval Medical Center has provided medical care to veterans and several U.S. presidents since its opening in 1940.

Dwayne has become a familiar face at the facility, having made numerous visits over the years, most recently in November of last year.

Around that time, he also met with Senate representatives to discuss military recruitment.

However, his appearance fueled even more rumors of a possible bid for the White House.

Johnson revealed this in 2023 Trevor Noah’s What Now podcast that he has been inundated with requests to run for office.

‘At the end of the year . . . in 2022 I was visited by the parties, asking if I was going to run and if I could run,” Johnson said. ‘It was a big problem. And it came out of the blue. And it was one after the other.”
