Chloe Madeley admits she was ‘really nervous’ she’d regret having a baby and details dramatic birth

Chloe Madeley has admitted that during her pregnancy she worried that she would regret her decision to have children.

The 35-year-old fitness guru spoke candidly about her concerns when she appeared on Friday’s Loose Women alongside her seven-week-old daughter Bodhi and husband James Haskell.

The daughter of Richard Madeley and Judy Finnigan has also expressed her concerns after coming in for an emergency cesarean last month and revealed she is currently living with her famous parents as her home is being renovated.

Chloe discussed her initial misgivings about motherhood, sharing: ‘I doubted for a long time whether I wanted children, and I think many women don’t necessarily talk about it.

‘In the third trimester. I was really nervous, I hope I made the right decision and I thought that would go away. It didn’t, and I was really nervous about it.

“As soon as I saw her, I fell madly in love and thought, ‘This is the best thing I’ve ever done!’

Discussing her new family arrangement, she revealed: ‘We had our house renovated and we needed a place to live. I carefully asked Mom and Dad, “How would you like it if we only came and stayed for a week?”

‘My mother—because I was heavily pregnant at the time—thought her birthdays and Christmas had come all at once!

“I would say that I have never had such a strong bond with my mother since my pregnancy. I’ve always been a bit of a daddy’s girl and I feel a bit guilty for saying that, but it is what it is.’

Chloe said: ‘I wasn’t sure if I wanted kids, and I don’t think a lot of women talk about it’

She continued: ‘In the third trimester. I was really nervous, I hope I made the right decision and I thought that would go away. It didn’t, and I was really nervous about it’

She also revealed that their new arrangement means father Richard can spend some quality time with her granddaughter.

Chloe revealed: ‘It’s really cute – daddy takes her upstairs for an hour every morning to lie in bed with my mum while she reads the papers. I get an hour just to shower. That’s just unbelievable.’

Former rugby star James, 37, was the doting dad every inch as he sat next to Chloe as he cradled his newborn, revealing that he has since gotten the better of the pair when it comes to changing diapers.

Shocking: Talking about the traumatic birth, James explained, “The candles and whale music are going out the window. It was scary having her induced because her heart rate dropped.”

“We had an emergency caesarean section, so I changed the first diaper,” he said of the delivery.

“I could see this midwife was with me, ready to correct me. I had honestly taken six hours of hypnobirthing prenatal classes – if you ever need advice, I’m actually a qualified obstetrician.

“I changed this diaper and she said, ‘You know what, I’m going to give you five out of five, that’s the best diaper change ever.” I had practiced on a doll.’

Touching more on the traumatic birth, James explained, “The candles and whale music are going out the window. It was scary to have her induced when her heart rate dropped and nine nurses came in! I just wanted the baby gone.’

The couple welcomed their first child on August 10, after they tied the knot in 2018.
