A concert by The Chainsmokers descended into chaos when fourteen people were taken to hospital during a performance in San Jose, California on Friday.
The electronic duo, made up of Drew Taggart and Alex Pall, had taken the stage at the outdoor venue Discovery Meadow when firefighters arrived on the scene just over three hours after the start of the performance.
The San Jose Fire Department shared on X that it responded to “multiple patients requiring medical attention” at 8:22 p.m.
“SJFD immediately requested an Ambulance Task Force, two additional advanced fire life support units and a battalion chief to manage the incident and provide additional medical resources,” a separate release said.
“A total of fourteen ambulances responded to the scene and fourteen patients were transported to local hospitals.”
The fire brigade also assisted with traffic control around the outdoor site, with resources returned to service ‘at approximately 10.34pm’.

That’s what the police said NBC Bay Area that patients were taken to the hospital for medical concerns, including “suspected alcohol intoxication and drug-related problems.”
Ten of the people were taken to the hospital during the last 30 minutes of the concert, police said ABC-7.

The San Jose show started at Discovery Meadow at 5 p.m., and The Chainsmokers also performed the next day on Saturday at the Encore Beach Club at the Wynn in Las Vegas.
Daily Mail has reached out to representatives from The Chainsmokers and the San Jose Fire Department for comment but has not yet heard back.

The Chainsmokers have been busy this year, aside from taking the stage, and recently released a new German single titled Inundausnauw.
The track was made in collaboration with the German rapper Makko.
Earlier this year in May, the duo also released an EP titled Love Is Kind in collaboration with Oaks.
The EP contains a total of five songs, including Al Know, Echo and Five Past Three.
“A few months ago we made Echo, then we made another song, and another, and another,” the duo wrote on Instagram in April while announcing the EP to fans.
‘I can’t remember the last time we had such a creative flow. This followed a period where I felt really stuck in the studio. Maybe we had too many ideas about what 2026 could sound like for us.”
When some of their previous hits, such as Roses, reached new audiences in 2026, Taggart and Pall admitted they were left in a “weird place” creatively.

‘It made us think a lot about the magic of that time and what made people feel connected to it again.’
They added: ‘We’re still working on the answer to that question and I think we’re getting close. Making this EP helped a lot…’
The Chainsmokers began gaining recognition after the release of their 2014 song #Selfie.
In the following years, the pair achieved further success in the music industry after dropping Roses, Don’t Let Me Down and Closer with Halsey.
