Ant and Dec have teased their brand new I’m A Celebrity spin-off show, Wild Frontier, promising ‘surprise twists’ and ‘danger’ for the star contestants.
The new show, which will air next year, will change things up from the usual format by pairing celebrities as they navigate trials in the wilderness.
In a teaser shared to I’m A Celebrity’s Instagram on Monday, the pair – who are currently filming the series in Canada – hinted that things won’t be easy for the showbiz pairings, while also making a thinly veiled reference to this year’s disastrous I’m A Celebrity South Africa grand finale.
Joining his co-star in the Wilderness, he shared on December 50: “It’s a brand new show, with an exciting new format. A lot of new trials and challenges, and we can’t wait to present them to you!’
Announcing a ‘big twist’, Ant, also 50, continued: ‘To take part you have to enter as a pair, enter as a pair and then leave as a pair. And those duos better be prepared, because here in the Canadian wilderness, danger lurks around every corner.”
He then joked, “One word…bears!” making his co-host look anxious.

Continuing to discuss the show, Ant continued: ‘I’m a celebrity… The Wild Frontier launches next year and we’ll have a live grand final from London where you can have your say and choose your winning duo.’
Dec then cheekily alluded to the last live final the pair hosted, which saw chaos erupt when winner Adam Thomas became embroiled in an on-air bust-up with Jimmy Bullard and David Haye following his feud with the former footballer in the camp.
Dec commented, “Bears? And a live final?’ before turning to the camera and saying, “This is more dangerous than I thought!”
The pair then confirmed that Australia’s usual I’m A Celebrity show will be back ‘later in the year’, with the new spin-off show starting the following year.
While many fans were excited about the upcoming show, many wondered why the duo dared to perform another live finale when the last one was an “absolute disaster.”
The I’m A Celebrity South Africa final, which aired live in April, descended into complete chaos when Jimmy accused Adam of being ‘abusive, aggressive and intimidating’ during a shouting match on the pre-recorded show last year.
As presenters Ant and Declan struggled to control the fiery trio, Gemma Collins and Sinitta stormed off stage in anger.

Meanwhile, the line-up for I’m A Celebrity… The Wild Frontier has reportedly been revealed, reportedly featuring husband and wife duos Rio and Kate Ferdinand and Venezuela Fury and Noah Price, as well as brother and sister team Louise Redknapp and Joe Nurding.
Former Dancing On Ice judges and partners Christopher Dean and Karen Barber, boy band stars Brian McFadden and Keith Duffy and social media stars Paul Olima and Jeremy Lynch are also taking part.
Little is known about the new show The Wild Frontier, which will consist of fifteen episodes early next year.
It is thought the teams will have to battle it out in a series of challenges with one pair being crowned the winner.
