Angel Reese follows up her Met Gala appearance with another impressive outing for Chicago Sky – 24 hours later

Just a day after hitting the red carpet at the Met Gala, Angel Reese returned to the court for the Chicago Sky and put on an impressive performance.

On Monday, Reese was one of several notable names to appear at the event in New York City, as she celebrated her 22nd birthday in style.

And 24 hours later, Reese played for the Sky in a preseason win against the Liberty, scoring 13 points and five rebounds for her new team.

“So now y’all can delete the drafts and tweets saying I shouldn’t have gone to the Met gala and that I can’t do both,” she wrote afterward on X. “I CAN DO ANYTHING THROUGH CHRIST WHO STRENGTHENS ME. ‘

Reese, who also scored 13 points in her preseason Sky debut, took a private jet to New York for the Met Gala, where this year’s theme was “Sleeping Beauties: Reawakening Fashion.”

The Chicago Sky star was dressed in 16Arlington by Marco Capaldo.

Other basketball players at the event included former NBA Dwyane Wade and oft-injured Brooklyn Nets player Ben Simmons.

In a TikTok recorded after the Met Gala, Reese wrote, “Today was a success. I’ve been able to play the game I love, but also live in the fashion world and do everything I’ve always dreamed of.’

The women’s basketball player has had a few turbulent months.

Her LSU basketball team reached the Elite Eight of the women’s NCAA tournament before falling to Caitlin Clark’s Iowa squad on April 1.

Two weeks later, Reese began her professional career when she was selected No. 7 overall by the Sky.

And after a short two-game preseason, Reese will make her competitive professional debut in a week when the Sky begin their regular season against the Dallas Wings.
