The couple, who met in 2014 on the set of The Light Between Oceans, tied the knot in a private ceremony in Ibiza, Spain, in October 2017.

They welcomed their first son in 2021 and their second son, whose name has not been revealed, earlier in 2024. They now live with their two children in Lisbon, Portugal.

The Echo Chamber is a somber, intimate love story about a drug-addicted music producer Leo (played by Luca Marinelli) and an enigmatic physiotherapist, Anne (played by Alicia).

Their codependent relationship cycles through intense attachment, care, control and separation.

Directed by Andrea Pallaoro, the film is a highly anticipated contender for the Golden Lion and is based on the last screenplay written by legendary Italian filmmaker Bernardo Bertolucci before his death.

Alicia was joined on the red carpet by her co-stars Luca Marinelli, Susan Sarandon and director Andrea.

Susan, 79, showed off her incredibly youthful looks in a simplistic strapless black dress and opted for a pop of red lipstick.

Orlando Bloom showed up dressed in an all-black tuxedo as he smiled for photos.

Meanwhile, Irina Shayk, 40, showed off her physique in a vintage Dolce & Gabbana dress with sassy bow detailing.

The model recreated fellow runway star Bella Hadid’s 21st birthday look and wore the exact same dress.

Despite having a permanent home base, Alicia and Michael lead hectic lives. Alicia jokes that they have become “nomads” as they move between homes in four different countries for work.

The couple usually takes turns staying home with their sons while the other is filming.

Speaking to The Independent, Alicia said: ‘We’ve been to Lisbon; we’ve been to London a lot and spend a lot of time in Italy and France. We are nomads. That’s the difficult thing about working, we can’t plan far ahead.’

Alicia shared a rare insight into co-parenting with her husband and opened up about her battle with “mom guilt.”

The actress made the rare comments during a stylish shoot for British Vogue ahead of her West End debut last year.

Although Alicia admitted that both her and her husband’s schedules can be grueling, she said they make sure they never work at the same time so that one parent can always be home with the kids.

‘They can be very long days, and a lot of the time you’ll be leaving before the kids get up and you might not be back until they’re asleep. So knowing that there is always one parent at home. With all the parental and motherly guilt that you constantly carry with you, I constantly struggle with that.’

She also talked about life in Lisbon after the family’s move to Portugal: ‘My husband said he wanted to surf every day. Every weekend we are there, we are on the beach with the children.’
