Ben Cousins put his athletic skills to the test when he took up a brand new sport on Wednesday.
The AFL great, 45, looked happy and healthy as he played a game of tennis at the Swimply x Rally4Ever tennis clinic in Melbourne.
Ben was accompanied by former tennis star and coach Pat Cash and American rapper Redfoo.
The former West Coast Eagles player looked deeply focused and showed off his forehand and backhand as he returned balls over the net.
He wore a white T-shirt with the Swimply logo on his chest, paired with black running shorts and cross trainer sneakers.

Meanwhile, Pat cemented his status as a tennis legend by tying his signature black and white checkered bandana over his forehead.

He won the Brownlow Medal in 2005 and captained the West Coast Eagles from 2001 to 2005, securing the club’s best and fairest awards for four of that season.

The football star played 238 games and scored 205 goals for the West Coast Eagles, winning a premiership with the club in 2006.
His dramatic fall from grace was well documented starting in 2007, when he publicly battled drug addiction and dealt with his failed relationship with Maylea Tinecheff.
He was later dismissed and banned from the AFL for a year for repeated offences.

In 2021, Susan Backshell, who has acted as a mentor to Ben since his last stint in prison, told Ny Breaking Australia that he is focusing solely on his children.
Ben found himself in a cold, cramped prison cell for the sixth time in thirteen years, deciding after seven months behind bars in 2020 that enough was enough.
He told her he wanted to make amends and clean up his life, and Susan gave him an ultimatum: “Give it your all, or forget it all.”

Since Ben was released in December 2020, Backshell said she has never questioned his commitment to sobriety and improving his community.
Susan also said that Ben was always looking for new ways to bond with his children.
‘His children are everything to him, he really is a great father. He’s phenomenal,” Susan said.
‘They love him. They are also very sporty, just like him. They’re like little mini-mes. They have his determination. I see a lot of him in it.’
