Young people now identify as ‘gender season’ – meaning their gender changes with the time of year: ‘I feel more masculine in the summer!’

Gen Zers are sometimes accused of blowing with the wind when it comes to their sexuality.

But a growing number of young people now actually identify as ‘gender-seasoned’ – meaning their gender changes depending on the time of year.

Dee Whitnell, who identifies as non-binary, explained the term on TikTok as “an individual exploring their gender identity in relation to a season, or all seasons.”

It could be that someone’s gender expression is only tied to one season, such as being more masculine in winter.

Or that a person’s gender identity and expression changes with each season: perhaps identifying as a woman in the summer, but as a man in the fall.

“This doesn’t mean seasons determine your gender identity or expression, but it can influence them,” Whitnell said in a video on her YouTube channel.

“I feel more masculine in the summer, I wear more masculine clothes, I wear shorts, I normally wear my hair up more and I just feel more like a boy,” they said.

‘Whereas in winter for some reason girl mode comes out and I love skirts and dresses and loose hair.’

Users quickly doubted the concept. ‘That’s called wearing summer and winter clothes, just like everyone else!’ an user commented.

“It’s nonsense,” said another of gender identity, also known as seasogender, gender season or gendersian.

‘Genderseason’ is part of a growing expansion of gender identities and sexual orientations, including ‘ecosexuality’, which focuses on the seduction of nature.

The term ‘ecosexual’ is the state of finding nature sexually attractive, whether that means feeling at one with nature’s ‘energy’, or physically caressing nature.

A sexual health coach on TikTok described “ecosexuality” as an umbrella term for people who “treat nature as a sensual partner.”

But stories like the Toronto woman who began an “erotic” relationship with an oak tree and a clip from the British TV show Naked Attraction in which a cast member calls herself an ecosexual have drawn social media responses like “Society is doomed” and ” Why aren’t these kinds of people locked up? Or be treated?’
