WWE announces plans to stage its first-ever premium live event in Germany with Bash in Berlin… adding to their recent successes in Europe with record-breaking shows Clash and the Castle and Money in the Bank

  • The WWE has confirmed plans to host its first Premium Live Event in Germany
  • It follows the huge success of international live events over the past year
  • Including the promotional trip to Great Britain with Money in the Bank this summer

WWE has confirmed plans to host its first-ever major Premium Live Event in Germany.

The event will take place on August 31, 2024 at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin and follows twelve successful months in Europe.

The announcement of Bash In Berlin, in partnership with Live Nation, follows a big year of international live events including Montreal’s Elimination Chamber, Puerto Rico’s Backlash and Jeddah’s Night of Champions.

In another major international event, the WWE returned to British shores this summer with Money in the Bank at the O2 Arena.

The promotion also held its first UK stadium show in 30 years when Clash At The Castle came to Cardiff last year.

Due to the popularity of the last two major events outside of North America, the WWE decided to add another premium live event in Europe.

Although the event won’t take place until next year, fans are hoping to catch a glimpse of the likes of Cody Rhodes, Bianca Belair, Becky Lynch, LA Knight and many more.

As mentioned, the WWE has had a lot of success in Europe lately. Their trip to the O2 with Money in the Bank was England’s first major pay-per-view in more than twenty years.

John Cena made a surprise visit to the O2 Arena and suggested that given Britain’s rabid fanbase, WWE should hold a WrestleMania in Britain for the first time ever.

“First of all, I would like to thank John Cena for putting me in an unenviable position,” Triple H told reporters at the post-show press conference when asked about the possibility of hosting the WWE’s main event in the UK.

‘Whatever I say, I get beaten for it. Look, like I said before, I’ve been coming here since the early ’90s, and it’s spectacular.

“As far as WrestleMania goes, it’s tough. I wish it were that easy. I wish it were that easy to say, “Man, that’s phenomenal right there. Let’s go.” We would go to a lot of places.

John Cena sent fans into a frenzy when he called for a future Wrestlemania event in Britain

‘We want to be a global company. We intend to be global. So never say never, right? The intention is there.’

While it remains unlikely that the WWE will hold a WrestleMania outside of North America, the European fanbase has shown that there is a real market to host many more major events in Europe.

In addition to Cena, the likes of Logan Paul and Roman Reigns were all present during the promotional trip to England – which only proves that there is a genuine interest in hosting many more events in Europe.

The promotion is currently in Germany for a tour that kicks off in Europe tonight and will end at the Mercedes-Benz Arena in Berlin on Saturday, October 28.
