Hall later told police that he received treatment at the hospital and ‘he immediately underwent an 8 hour procedure.’
Today, the officers wrote, Hall “is doing very well,” and even showed up at the Mount Pleasant Police Department in person to thank the officers, whom he now sees as saviors.
‘ Ms. Palmer feels these officers absolutely saved her life,” the post continued, identifying the law enforcement officers who stopped Palmer as a possible drunk driver as Trooper 1st Class James Aton and Troopers 1st Class Raymond Schoonmaker.
“Without your quick analysis of the situation,” the department wrote, “the outcome could have ended differently.”
As for Hall, officials said, he is now doing well and on the road to recovery. Meanwhile, Aton and Schoonmaker are being praised for their heroics by suburban Charleston residents.
The department did not release video of the December encounter, in which officers called Palmer to an ambulance after realizing she was having an episode.
