Will and Martin made their respective debuts as detectives Mike Lowrey and Marcus Burnett in the first Bad Boys film, released in 1995.

The pair reprized their roles in Bad Boys II and Bad Boys For Life, which were released in 2003 and 2020 respectively.

It was announced that development on the fourth film in the action-comedy franchise was underway shortly after the third film’s release.

Smith confirmed that both he and Lawrence would return for the new film in February 2023, when it was also revealed that El Arbi and Fallah, who directed the third installment in the franchise, would also direct the fourth film.

Artists such as Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and Rhea Seehorn rounded out the film’s cast.

Production on the new film began in April last year, with much of the filming taking place in Atlanta and Miami.

Although filming was briefly interrupted due to the start of the 2023 SAG-AFTRA strike, the cast and crew reunited earlier this year and wrapped up in March.

Bad Boys: Ride Or Die is currently set to premiere in the United States on June 7.
