French tennis star Lois Boisson has gone viral after she angrily destroyed her racket following her defeat to American star Emma Navarro in the first round of the US Open.
Boisson, 23, was sent off from the competition on Monday afternoon after a 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 defeat to her American counterpart – and refused to hide her emotions afterwards.
After the two players shook hands, Boisson immediately began taking out her frustrations on her own racket, slamming it into the ground several times.
Meanwhile, in the same frame, Navarro waved to the crowd as they cheered on the American star after she booked her place in the next round.
It seemed that Navarro was unaware of Boisson’s anger after the result.
Their first round match was initially scheduled to start on Sunday but was postponed due to rain hitting the area, forcing a pause in outdoor activities.

“It was very difficult to stop at the point of the game we were at,” Navarro said.
“I just felt like I worked really hard to get to that point, and then all of a sudden it’s like tomorrow we come out and we both have a clean slate. It’s really unique because you feel like you should feel like you’re ahead of the curve, but you’re actually not.”
Navarro was leading the match before the match was postponed and was able to hold on despite a rejuvenated Boisson on her way.
‘It was really tough. It took me a while to find my way,” Navarro said.
“I think it was after I got broken in the third that I thought, okay, now I know I’m where I want to be. I’m ready to play.’
The American star now faces the winner of Catherine McNally and Anouk Koevermans’ match, which takes place later on Monday afternoon.
