Wild theory about the ‘true villain’ in Toy Story leaves fans ‘mind blown’: ‘This changes everything’

Movie buffs are sharing their shock over a ‘twisted’ theory about which character is the ‘real’ villain in the beloved Disney-Pixar franchise Toy Story.

Although many would consider the villains from the films to be: the rebellious boy next door Sid, the evil Emperor Zurg, the vengeful Lotso teddy bear or the creepy Gabby Gabby doll, some believe that Andy’s mother is the real villain.

Viewers pointed out that the mother was responsible for Woody and Buzz Lightyear’s biggest problems in the first three Toy Story films.

Film buffs have been talking about the characters they now view differently as adults, and Andy’s mother was mentioned.

“As a kid, I thought Andy’s mom was nothing more than a very minor character in the movies, only appearing a few times in the movie,” the fan said.

While many consider the Toy Story films to have villains, including the rebellious boy next door Sid and the evil Emperor Zurg, the vengeful Lotso bear others thought Andy’s mother was the real villain

“She’s the kind of character who’s just there because Andy needs a parental figure in the house. She’s not relevant to the plot of the movie… Or is she?’

As the Toy Story fan grew older, they said they began to realize that Andy’s mother’s actions set off the toy dramas in the first three films.

“In Toy Story, she gives Andy Buzz Lightyear, which makes Woody jealous and the events of the movie occur,” they explained.

‘In Toy Story 2, she starts a garage sale, which causes Woody to get stolen while he tries to save another toy.

“In Toy Story 3, she takes the toy in the garbage bag to the curb instead of to the attic, where it should have gone. That’s how they eventually found their way to her car to be transported to daycare.’

They admitted that Andy’s mother, whose name is unknown, is “not bad” and that she is “obviously a loving, caring mother.”

“However, she is the one who gets the toys into the trouble they face, making her more of an antagonist in the toys’ perspective,” they said.

“To me, she’s gone from a minor character who just loves her kids to the biggest threat to the toys’ well-being.”

The theory divided film fans, many of whom were “baffled” by the argument.

‘Being older myself, she seems even more evil. “Every time we clean our house, we always ask our sons if they want to keep toys before throwing them away, giving them away or selling them,” said one mother.

‘In Toy Story 2, Andy gets Jessie and Bullseye and says, ‘New toys! Thanks mom!’ As a mother I would say, ‘Who was in my child’s room and left toys here?!’ That’s quite worrying,” a second agreed.

As the Toy Story fan grew older, they said they began to realize that Andy’s mother’s actions set off the toy dramas in the first three films.

“They (and the movies) are probably the reason I hoard my kid’s toys,” said a third, while a fourth joked, “CPS should have been called for Andy’s mom because why was Molly in the front seat in her car seat ? ?!’.

However, others jumped to the character’s defense.

“Andy put the toys in a garbage bag instead of the box labeled ‘Attic’ that she had provided. After you give him a garbage bag for trash, you can’t blame her for thinking it was a garbage bag,” one person commented.

“I think she’s just an agent of progress/time and that’s the real threat to the toys. She is tangibly dragging Andy forward in life,” a second explained.

“If she didn’t do those things we wouldn’t get the three best movies ever,” a third added.

More children’s movie characters that people now look at differently as adults

“Ariel. Like girls, you’re really 16, maybe listen to your dad a little more.’

‘The Baroness in the sound of music! As a kid, I thought she was just being nice to Maria and telling her she loved the captain, causing her to run away. Because I formed that opinion early, I was 35 when I realized she did it on purpose.”

“When I watched Finding Nemo as a kid, I always thought Marlin was such an annoying dad… but growing up, I completely understand his concerns about Nemo.”

“Anastasia. When I was a kid, I always thought she was crazy to choose love over being a princess. As an adult, I completely understand that decision and would make the same choice.”

‘Grandpa Joe in Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory. As a kid I totally missed how bad he really is.”

‘Charlie’s mother from The Santa Clause. As a child I always thought, ‘WTH Charlie’s mother, what a bummer!’ and now I’m thinking, ‘Well, I’d probably feel the same way about my kid hanging out with his stupid dad who also thinks he’s Santa Claus.’

‘Janis Ian from Mean Girls. As a child, I thought she was a victim and that her actions were justified. It wasn’t until I was an adult that I realized she was also a ‘mean girl’ and just as terrible as the rest of them.”

‘Kevin from Home Alone. As a child I thought it was his fault for being left behind. But as an adult, parenting was terrible and they really deserved what they got.”

‘In the Jungle Book I thought Bagheera was a spoilsport and Baloo was so much fun. As an adult, Baloo was so irresponsible and Bagheera cared so much for Mowgli and really wanted the best for him, which was to leave the jungle.”
