Whatever happened to Rachael Taylor? Transformers star pops up in new season of wildly popular US show after moving to LA following domestic violence hell with Matt Newton

Rachael Taylor has been keeping a low profile since her troubled relationship with Matt Newton made headlines in 2010.

But now the actress has returned to the popular Stan show Hacks.

The 39-year-old made a rare appearance in season three of the series, playing the role of a stylist.

In the one-minute scene, Rachael assists Jean Smart, who plays the character Deborah Vance, as she tries to find an ensemble.

This marks Rachael’s first appearance on TV since starring in the 2019 series Jessica Jones.

She has disappeared from the radar and has almost completely wiped out her social media presence.

Rachael filed an arrest warrant against her ex-fiancé Matthew Newton in August 2010.

The couple ended their troubled relationship that same year after two years together.

Their romance ended after ‘two violent and unprovoked’ attacks in Rome after he proposed to her, prompting her to take out an AVO.

Speak with The Australian Women’s Weekly in 2014, Rachael confessed that she felt “ashamed” and “stupid” after being abused.

‘I was a victim of domestic violence. I don’t think any woman thinks they will become an addition to these statistics,” she wrote in a first-person essay.

‘Initially my reasons for keeping my experience of domestic abuse to myself were very simple. I felt ashamed. I felt stupid. I felt very sad.’

Rachael didn’t mention Matt in the essay, but their abusive relationship is well documented.

In 2019, she sparked speculation that she had “secretly married” her rumored fiancé Mike Piscitelli.
