Whataburger fans are excited about the triumphant return of the restaurant chain’s favorite menu items.
Social media users were in an uproar after Whataburger confirmed it would celebrate its 75th anniversary with new menu items.
The restaurant chain released the items outside of its ‘WhataVault’ and put them back on menus on January 7.
One of the newest additions to the menu is the $9.49 Monterey Melt, which Whataburger claimed was a product fans were clamoring for on social media platforms like Reddit and Instagram.
‘Yes, my day was made! The Monterey Melt is back at whataburger!’ wrote an X user.
The other favorite item that Whataburger said it wanted to “steal the spotlight” is the Chicken Fajita Taco, which costs $6.49.
“The chicken fajita taco is back at whataburger and this is officially the best day of my life,” one Whataburger customer tweeted.
Both menu items are available now at participating locations nationwide, but only for a limited time.

Several X users were enthusiastic about both menu additions.
“Whataburger brought back the Monterey Melt and the Chicken Fajita taco for the anniversary. Two items that should never have been off the menu,” an X user tweeted.
Several social media users also emphasized that the menu additions will last “forever” rather than for a “limited time.”
The food item customers were most excited about was the social media-famous Monterey Melt.
“Well…I missed my weekly Monterey Melt treat! Thank you!’, an Instagram user wrote.
Other commenters urged Whataburger to open restaurants in California and Kentucky so they could try the melt and taco, and one fan claimed they both “cured her pregnancy craving.”
“I’ve only had access to Whataburger for a little over a year. Excited to try this for the first time!,” one Instagrammer wrote.

The Monterey Melt and Chicken Fajita Taco aren’t the only Whataburger menu additions this month.
The restaurants are also celebrating their anniversary with the Mexican Hot Chocolate Coffee and Mexican Hot Chocolate Shake to “take your drinking game to the next level.”
Both drinks contain a mix of chocolate and cinnamon, and the coffee is iced or hot.
Like fan favorite foods, Whataburger’s new coffee and shake drinks will only be available for a limited time.
Whataburger also confirmed this month new offers available to its Rewards members on Whatastore.
It will then wrap up its birthday celebration by adding more favorite menu items on August 8, which will be selected based on customer requests on social media, online petitions, emails and paper mail.
In addition to fan-favorite menu items, the restaurant chain is preparing to launch its 24-piece collection in collaboration with Wrangler in spring 2025.
The collections include items such as jackets, graphic shirts and jeans, and will be available at select retailers nationwide.

Shortly after the launch, Burger King tested a Game Day Pretzel Whopper and Nacho Chicken Fries at select restaurants in Columbus, Ohio on January 9.
