LA Chargers’ Joey Bosa fined $55,000 for unsportsmanlike conduct and public criticism of officials after claiming he was ‘sick’ of them in X-rated locker room tirade

LA Chargers star running back Joey Bosa was fined a staggering $55,546 for two separate unsportsmanlike conduct and publicly criticizing officials following a 31-30 playoff loss to the Jacksonville Jaguars.

Bosa was fined $29,785 and $13,261, respectively, for the two unsportsmanlike conduct penalties, along with $12,500 for his comments.

As he spoke to reporters at his locker after the game, Bosa was clearly still angry because he was “sick of these shitty people,” in reference to the officials.

Bosa said the officials (pictured before the game) had “ruined” Los Angeles’ season and he was “sick” of them.

“It’s a heated game, it hurts, I play with half a leg, they drag me to the ground,” he began. “Maybe some of them weren’t as brazen as I thought, but I think there needs to be more responsibility.”

“If I tell them anything I get fined $40,000, but if they botch a call that ruins an entire team’s season, they’ll probably come back to the locker room like ‘Haha, I’ve got that hole**, I’ve got it 15 yards, what a loser. “

‘I guarantee you that’s what they’re talking about in the back. I’m sick of those damn people.’

Bosa’s fury reached boiling point late on when he was caught on camera smashing his helmet into the grass after believing a false start penalty had been missed, which later led to an unsportsmanlike conduct penalty.

He thought the referees missed a penalty and took his frustrations out on his helmet.

Bosa lost his temper and smashed his helmet into the ground near the Chargers sideline.

The penalty set up the Jaguars to not only score a pivotal touchdown, but also a successful two-point conversion attempt in the midst of the recovery effort.

After the loss, head coach Brandon Staley admitted that Bosa was frustrated but insisted that players can’t let their frustrations get the better of them because it “hurts the team.”

“I think he was frustrated,” Staley said. “There was a ton of stuff that built up throughout the game. And he tried to discuss it with the officials.

But we can’t lose our composure like this. We have to make sure that we stay on the high side of things. And you can’t hurt the team that way.
