- New website includes calculator for how much American families would lose
Americans can now see how much money they would lose each year if Vice President Kamala Harris were to repeal Donald Trump’s tax cuts.
A new website shared exclusively with DailyMail.com features a calculator that allows voters to estimate the impact of Harris’ tax policies on them.
The largest PAC supporting the former president is rolling out the tool in the days after Harris announced her running mate for Minnesota governor, Tim Walz.
Visitors of kamalataxcalculator.com are asked to enter their income, status, marital status, age and the number of children and dependents to see how the policy change ‘affects you.’
The PAC’s webpage accuses Harris of “attacking the Trump tax cuts.”
A new website lets users enter their tax return information to find out how much money they would miss out on if Kamala Harris were to roll back the Trump-era tax cuts
A married person filing jointly, under 65, earning $75,000, with two children and living in Arizona would lose $2,828 annually under Harris’ administration, an example obtained by DailyMail.com shows.
During the 2020 Democratic primaries, Harris called for a complete repeal of the Trump-era tax reform law passed in 2017.
“On day one, we’re going to repeal the tax law that benefits the top 1 percent and corporations,” Harris said at a meeting in Detroit with the American Federation of Teachers. If she were president, she would “repeal the entire law.”
Harris preferred to push through legislation she introduced as a senator, which would have included $3 trillion in refundable tax cuts that would hit the middle class.
“Keep your hard earned money!” it says at the bottom of the page. “Vote Trump!”
Make America Great Again Inc.’s new webpage, launched Friday, includes a link to an article about Harris’ 2019 comments.
There’s also a link to a 2017 statement from Walz, then a Minnesota representative, explaining why he voted against Trump’s tax cuts.
Harris said during her 2020 presidential campaign that if she were in the White House, she would support ending Trump’s 2017 tax cuts
“(M)y Republican colleagues have once again rushed a vote on a partisan bill that would adversely impact millions of Americans,” Walz wrote at the time. “Under this legislation, 86 million middle-class families would see a tax increase.”
“To make matters worse, 83 percent of the tax cuts in this bill would go to the wealthiest 1 percent of Americans, many of whom are part of the political donor class that pours large sums of money into elections across the country,” he continued.
The economy and inflation remain the top issues for voters heading to the polls in November.
Trump’s team claims that four more years of a Democratic administration will further exacerbate Americans’ recent economic woes.
