Two people injured after shopping centre display vehicle reversed into glass store display

Two people were injured after a demonstration car broke down in a busy shopping centre.

A BYD electric vehicle is said to have reversed and crashed into a glass railing while charging at Westfield Liverpool Shopping Center on Saturday.

It is understood the car reversed into the Myer store and hit the two people.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and treated the injured at the scene.

A 50-year-old man was taken to Liverpool Hospital with head injuries and a laceration to the forehead.

A 28-year-old man suffered injuries to his spine and pelvis and was also taken to the same hospital.

A third person was treated for minor injuries from falling glass but did not require hospitalisation.

It is believed the collision also damaged Myer store beauty salons.
