West Ham vs Dallas United suspended after ‘player used n-word on Anton Ferdinand’ in North Carolina’s The Soccer Tournament as US team launches investigation

West Ham’s match against Dallas United at the 7v7 competition The Soccer Tournament was suspended on Thursday night over allegations of racism.

According to The Athletic, a Dallas player used the n-word on West Ham’s Anton Ferdinand. It has also been alleged that West Ham want Dallas disqualified from the tournament.

A statement posted on the match’s Twitter account said: ‘The match between West Ham United and Dallas United has been suspended pending an investigation into allegations of use or intent to use racial slurs.

TST has no tolerance for racial abuse and takes these allegations very seriously.

After consulting conversations with players and coaches from both teams, officials and audio from our production team, TST will release the results of its investigation.”

Dallas said in a statement: “Dallas United has launched an internal investigation into our opponent’s allegations.

“We will issue a statement shortly. In the meantime, we are fully cooperating with The Soccer Tournament and their research.’

A clip of the game surfaced on social media showing the players due to an apparent confrontation.
