Watch as Mariners invite kids from Seattle hospital to hand out signed baseball cards… to MLB stars

It was the turn of the Seattle Mariners players to collect autographs before Tuesday’s game against the Detroit Tigers.

In a heartwarming gesture, MLB stars welcomed children from Seattle Children’s Hospital to T-Mobile Park and signed cards for the happy group.

But there was a twist, when the kids also handed out personalized Topps cards to the players. The specially made cards had the kids’ names and pictures on them.

Mariners outfielder Mitch Haniger was credited with organizing the event, a clip of which was posted to social media on Tuesday.

A line of children could be seen sitting at the head of a table in the interview room at T-Mobile Park.

They had markers and boxes full of Topps cards in front of them and you could see the kids signing the cards while the Mariners players waited on the other side of the table.

“This is my last one,” star player JP Crawford was heard telling teammate Luke Raley as a young boy signed a card.

“I need one of him too,” Raley added, to which Crawford said to the boy, “You’re in great demand here!”

The clip spread on social media on Tuesday, with Mariners players being praised for their work in the Seattle community.

“This is something very special to my heart. I was once one of those Seattle CHMC kids. I spent a lot of time in that hospital,” one fan wrote.

“Other teams could learn a big lesson from this group,” said another, while a fan added: “Well isn’t this the healthiest thing ever? Good on Mitch for setting this up, great idea.”
