Want the old Windows 11 Task Manager back? It’s easy – here’s how

If you miss the older design of the Task Manager in Windows 11, there’s good news: it’s still in the operating system and you can bring it back to life, if you know where to look. The current design was introduced in the Windows 11 22H2 update. This Task Manager revamp was a pretty big interface change, and not everyone was thrilled about it.

If you press the Ctrl + Shift + Esc keys or open the Task Manager from the Start Menu, the new version of Task Manager will be displayed. However, X user @thebookisclosed found that you can open the older version of Task Manager by going to the Windows folder on your C: drive (most users’ main drive) and opening Task Manager through the app located in the SysWOW64 folder.
