Fans chanted Vinicius Jr.’s name. and applauded the young winger during the 20th minute of Real Madrid’s LaLiga match against Rayo Vallecano on Wednesday night.

It was a show of solidarity after the winger suffered racist abuse throughout the season, including in Sunday’s 1-0 defeat to Valencia.

The Real Madrid striker was seen on the pitch ahead of the game, with his teammates all wearing the number 20 shirt, his number on the back, as a show of solidarity.

Fans also unveiled a banner at the Bernabeu that read, in Spanish, “We are all Vinicius, enough already!”

The striker was also shown a red card in Sunday’s loss, but it was scrapped by LaLiga, who also handed Valencia a £40,000 fine and a five-match closure of Valencia’s Mario Kempes stand.

Despite this, due to a knee injury, Vinicius was not named in Carlo Ancelotti’s squad for the match and was seen in the stands thanking the fans, clapping them in gratitude for their support and holding his thumb in the air.
