Sources told DailyMail.com that the 60-year-old billionaire Amazon founder and his fiancée had purchased the upscale sushi restaurant Matsuhisa in the Colorado ski town for December 26 or 27 and planned their wedding for Saturday 28.
However, after the story was published, Bezos took to Twitter to deny the claims. He said: ‘This whole thing is completely untrue – none of this is happening. The old saying “don’t believe everything you read” is truer today than ever before.
‘Now lies can travel around the world before the truth can put on its pants.
‘So be careful, people, and don’t be gullible. It will be interesting to see if all the media that “covered” and re-reported this issue will make a correction if it comes and goes and doesn’t happen.’
