Paramount came on board the project in late February and set a release date of August 8, 2025.

As of now, the film will compete against director Paul Thomas Anderson’s untitled film, which is currently in production with Leonardo DiCaprio and Sean Penn.

Bryan Bertino will direct Vicious from his own original screenplay, with Richard Suckle (Wonder Woman) producing and Melinda Whitaker executive producing.

Bertino is best known for writing and directing the 2008 horror film The Strangers, along with 2014’s Mockingbird, 2016’s The Monster and 2020’s The Dark and the Wicked.

It’s unknown if the film will go into production anytime soon, although it seems likely as the cast increases.
