American basketball fans are thrilled with Kevin Durant’s short answer about representing America and patriotism.
Durant is one of the best American basketball players of the 21st century and played a key role in Team USA’s comeback victory over Serbia in the Olympic semifinals on Thursday.
The United States trailed their European opponents by 13 points at the end of the third quarter and defeated Serbia 32-15 in the final 10 minutes.
Durant, along with Steph Curry and LeBron James, was the driving trio that led America to the gold medal.
The Phoenix Suns star and future Hall of Famer made his opinions clear about wearing the red, white and blue.
Team USA’s Kevin Durant gave a one-line answer about patriotism that basketball fans love
“There’s a lot of b******t happening in our country. But there’s also a lot of great things happening,” Durant said.
Durant’s comment was well-received. Some felt his quote belonged on government buildings.
“Slogan of the generation,” said an American basketball fan.
Durant’s final Olympic appearance in Paris will be against host nation France in the final, which will again be a tough test.
It would be a great accomplishment to lead this American team to a gold medal and perhaps Durant could further showcase what it means to represent the United States.
