Union J fans vent their fury after the X Factor boyband cancel their reunion tour

‘We had to find out on Ticketmaster!’ Union J fans express their fury after the X Factor boy band CANCELS their reunion tour without notice

Fans were furious on Friday after X-Factor boy band Union J canceled their reunion tour without any public announcement.

The band first rose to fame as contestants on The X Factor in 2012, where they placed fourth in the competition and later signed a recording contract with Sony.

Although the group officially disbanded in 2019, in December 2022 they announced that they would get back together for a spring 2023 reunion tour.

They were set to perform in Newcastle, Manchester, Glasgow, Birmingham and Liverpool.

But on Twitter, one fan was left furious after receiving an email that his ticket to the concert at the Liverpool Empire Theater was refunded.

Furious: Fans were furious Friday after X-Factor boy band Union J canceled their reunion tour without any public announcement.

The email read: “Unfortunately, due to unforeseen circumstances, the show’s promoters have made the difficult decision to cancel the performance that was due to take place on June 3, 2023.

“We understand the disappointment this will cause and apologize for any inconvenience.”

Hitting the band, the fan captioned the post: “Their silence about all of this is really disrespectful.”

Responding to a comment about whether this was just for Liverpool or not, he confirmed that the cancellation applied to ‘the whole tour’ and said ‘I don’t know why they haven’t said anything’.

Other fans got angry too, as one wrote: ‘So Union J is posting on personal accounts but hasn’t said anything about canceling the tour!

Another wrote: ‘Guys please don’t use the band’s Insta account to promote your own stuff when you can’t even give us a reason (so far) why there isn’t a tour. They will only add fuel to the fire.’

‘A little low key, glad I never got tickets if that’s how they’re doing it. I love you guys, but you HAVE to ADDRESS this issue,’ added a third.

A fourth wrote: “Non union j canceling their tour and we all found out via ticketmaster… which stopped them from telling us themselves.”

A fifth said: ‘Like union j canceled their tour and they hadn’t put anything formally on their socials?

“After spending all that money and only finding out on Twitter is embarrassing.”

The group was founded as a four-piece on the talent show alongside George Shelley, who left the group in 2016. They were initially signed to RCA Records and released their first single in June 2013.

Stereo Kicks singer and later Ex On The Beach star Casey Johnson, who shares two children with Marnie Simpson, replaced George in 2016 but was soon dumped by bosses.

The band was set to perform five special shows in 2023, as part of their reunion tour.

They also had tour dates scheduled in Newcastle and Glasgow in May, both of which have been cancelled.

Representatives for Union J have been contacted for comment.
