Former Hollywood power couple Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke were spotted at the same red carpet event in New York City – 20 years after their shock split.
On Tuesday, they attended the 40th anniversary screening of Sophie’s Choice at the Museum of Modern Art with the film’s stars Meryl Streep, Kevin Kline and Peter MacNicol.
The exes seemingly avoided each other, with Thurman taking on the cameras solo and Hawke joining forces with Cate Blanchett.
On Tuesday night, Thurman looked chic in a black jacket over a white button-up blouse.
She donned black semi-sheer tights and heels to complete the outfit.

Once inside the venue, the Before Sunrise star threw away his jacket to reveal a linen blazer that matched his trousers.
He posed for photos with close friend Cate Blanchett, who dressed in a denim suit for the event.
Hawke also mingled with Showgirls star Gina Gershon.
Meanwhile, Thurman chatted with Stranger Things star Matthew Modine and socialite Nancy Jarecki.
Tuesday’s screening was presented by French luxury brand LANVIN.
Alan J. Pakula’s psychological drama focused on naive writer Stingo (MacNicol) who befriends Polish immigrant Zofia “Sophie” Zawistowska (Streep) and her emotionally unstable lover Nathan Landau (Kline) in 1947.
Meanwhile, Streep mastered a flawless Polish accent for her breathtaking portrayal of an Auschwitz prisoner forced to choose which of her two children would be sent to the gas chamber, which she accomplished in one take.

Thurman and Hawke married in 1998 after meeting on the set of the science fiction film Gattaca in 1996.
It was Thurman’s second trip down the aisle, as she was previously married to Academy Award winner Gary Oldman from 1990 to 1992.
Thurman and Hawke welcomed two children: Maya, 25, and Levon, 22.
They split in 2003 amid rumors that Hawke had cheated on the Kill Bill star with their children’s nanny, Ryan Shawhughes.
The Training Day actor denied the affair, but he did begin publicly dating Shawhughes after he and Thurman finalized their divorce in 2005.
