Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill has been ruled out for today's game against the New York Jets due to an ankle injury, the team announced.
Hill was seen going through warmups without his ankle taped, but he will not play against the Dolphins' AFC East rival.
Miami's decision appears to have been made out of an abundance of caution, as Hill would have been trying to build on his MVP resume and get closer to the 2,000-yard receiving mark.
Hill suffered the injury during the first quarter of the Dolphins' Monday Night Football game against the Tennessee Titans while being tackled out of bounds.
Hill played just 33 snaps during the game, after a brief return from the locker room.

Hill later revealed that he was persuaded to return to the game after receiving a text from his wife that said, “You better get back in that game, dawg.”
Keeta Vaccaro Hill didn't offer her husband any support, and now he's not playing in a full game.
'Then I made a decision, I came in at halftime, I texted my wife, “This thing hurts… I need an ankle massage tonight” and she said, “You better get your a** back in that game, dawg.” I was like, 'Okay,'” Hill said according to ESPN.
With four games left in the regular season, Hill has 1,542 receiving yards.
No NFL wide receiver has ever surpassed 2,000 yards receiving in a single season, with Calvin Johnson's 1,964 yards receiving mark in 2012 still being the league record.
