As the rain poured down on England, Bournemouth’s latest signing was revealed to the fans as Tyler Adams was shown off to the public.
In a gloomy Vitality Stadium, Adams smiled and waved to supporters on the pitch he will now call home following a switch from recently relegated Leeds United.
The United States captain won’t be on the pitch for the Cherries any time soon as he continues to rehabilitate and recover from a hamstring injury he suffered last season.
But luckily for him, the prognosis isn’t as bad as previously thought – and Adams could be playing again sometime next month.
Bournemouth will hope his signing will bring stability and improvement after a 0-1-2 win in the first three games of the season.

Forest led 2-0 early, but a red card and a winning penalty from Bruno Fernandes sealed Manchester United’s three points in front of the home fans at Old Trafford.
This includes Saturday’s 2-0 defeat to Ange Postecoglou’s Tottenham, which now sees Spurs heading towards the top of the league.
Adams reflected on the loss with a social media post saying, “Not the result we wanted, but just wanted to thank the fans and staff for a great reception. I promise to give everything for you.’
Elsewhere in Europe, it was generally a tough day for the Americans playing in the top leagues.
Starting goalkeeper Matt Turner made seven saves but was let down by his defense as his Nottingham Forest side surrendered an early lead to lose 3–2 to Manchester United.
After Forest took a 2-0 lead within ten minutes, Christian Eriksen brought United back the lead within an hour.
But in the second half, the Forest defense failed to mark Bruno Fernandes, who slipped through a pass to Casemiro, who equalized the game.
Forest then suffered two hammer blows as captain Joe Worrall was sent off and Man United later won a penalty.
Fernandes stepped up and converted it, dealing the final blow in the 3-2 win.
Brendan Aaronson got an early shower after receiving two yellow cards
But Aaronson’s Union Berlin team managed to record a 4-1 win against SV Darmstadt
In Germany, Union Berlin’s Brenden Aaronson had a nightmare start in his side’s game against SV Darmstadt.
The New Jersey native was booked early on for a tough challenge on Darmstadt’s Fabian Nurnberger.
But he was booked again in the 21st minute with a second yellow card following poor judgment by referee Patrick Ittrich.
After blowing the game to death, Aaronson slowly kicked the ball harmlessly to one of his teammates. Ittrich called in Aaronson and drew a second yellow card, condemning the former Leeds United man to an early shower.
Fortunately for his team, the high-flying Union Berlin secured a resounding 4-1 victory.
