Spin on Rod Stewart’s Australian tour health problems after he canceled his Geelong show on Saturday

Sir Rod Stewart shocked his Australian fans on Saturday when he canceled his Geelong concert due to ill health just hours before he was due to take the stage.

Many wondered if the rest of their Australian tour would also be affected, but it has now been confirmed that their concert in Adelaide on Tuesday is going ahead.

A spokesman for the 78-year-old rock legend revealed on Monday, their performance at the Adelaide Entertainment Center Arena “definitely still stands”.

The hitmaker will take the stage at the Adelaide Stadium on Tuesday night to sing both old and new hits before a crowd of 11,000 fans.

He is then scheduled to perform in Sydney on Wednesday March 29 and in the Hunter Valley on Saturday April 1.

‘I was informed this morning that I have a viral infection and my throat is too sore to sing. I’m only human and sometimes I get sick just like you.

He continued: ‘My greatest joy is performing for you guys, so I’m doing everything I can to recover and get back on stage!’

Saturday’s Instagram post comes after Rod’s team took to his Instagram to post a statement to his fans.

The statement read: “Live Nation and Roundhouse Entertainment regret to announce that tonight’s performance by Rod Stewart, Cyndi Lauper and Jon Stevens at the Mt. Duneed Estate, Geelong will not take place due to illness.”

We apologize for the disappointment and inconvenience to ticket holders. A further announcement about the concert arrangements will be made early next week.’
